Spence/Pat Good to see your names!
In regards to "Jane"?????, I have a portrait that I just discovered last week. It was signed on October 14th 1951 "Jane" Her 80th birthday.
My Jane story is very hazy. When I was very young, my father {Robert James Lawrence Machesney} and I went by train from Niagara Falls Ontario, Canada to Port Arthure Ontario (now Thunder Bay Ontario) While there we visited an aunt Jane.Believe her last name was Cochran. Maybe with an E - Cochrane. Its seems her husband or brother inlaw worked at the grain elevator. He may have been deceased and the reason for the trip. It seems there may have been a sister or cousin there too. There was a man my dads age that took us fishing out in the country. I was not old enough to have a pole, but rememdered the trout cooked up pink. This is wild Eh!
It seems that Jane was his cousin or an aunt and very special to my Dad and the Machesney family (some one like Missy is to us). I have no rememberance of the trip home In fact the name Cochran came to mind while listning to a radio Program contemplating this this message. I will send the picture to Pat, If she is still collecting genealogy family Data. I also beleive that our Aunt Marion new this Jane too.
I show my Grand Father, James Lawrence Machesney as born August 11th, 1870 in Egermont township. Can you confirm this date. --Best wishes
