Angus MACKAY was the son of Kildonan Parish catechist, Donald Mackay. Angus married Jean SUTHERLAND Jan 5, 1813 in Kildonan, Sutherland, Scotland. Later the same year, they joined Lord Selkirk's settlers and emigrated to the Red River (near Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada). In 1815, Angus, his wife and one child came to Ontario. I believe that they settled in the "Scotch Settlement" near Bradford, Ont., along with Jean's mother and siblings. Would like information on Angus, Jean and descendents.
