Mackay family tree - Province of Quebec
Posted by: Eric Lefebvre Date: October 10, 1999 at 18:48:12

I have historic pictures (not yet on the net) and the family tree of my ancestors who came in New-France to save the British colony after the invasion of Americans in 1770-80.

They were among the creators of what we call Canada and the Province of Quebec. They were close to the Louis-Joseph Papineau family (prime minister of Canada) and the Globensky family (who were "Seigneurs"). They defeated the insurection of francophones in the Province of Quebec in 1837-38 (War of Patriots). Some Mackay became judges in Canada and lawyers in Montreal.
