Hi,
Elizabeth was my 4th gr-grandmother, and her mother's name was Barbara MacLeod. I think you possibly found that information in "The Mackeys and Allied Families" pages 356/357. I have a copy of the will of Donald MacKay from Fort Fredrica(sic) Ga. that was in the book.
The John Tompkins mentioned in the will is my 4th gr-grandfather, who married Elizabeth. Before and after this information, I have no knowledge. This is all I know about the MacKay's, except that Elizabeth was widowed and remarried. She married a William Johnston, and they raised the Tompkins children. I descend from the Tompkins/Taylor line.
I hope this helps.
Weston Taylor
