The book that I got this information from was "The Mackeys and Allied Families." I don't remember the author. This book should be found in a genealogy library. I don't believe it is rare. Mackey is a variation of MacKay.
My MacKay ancestry is as follows:
James MacKay m Barbara MacLeod had: Barbara, Donald, and Jeanne.
Donald MacKay m unknown had:
Elizabeth and Sarah
Elizabeth m John Tompkins----from here it is the Tompkins line. I have no dates for the MacKay's, but plenty on the Tompkins. My mother was a Tompkins.
I hope this has been of some use to you.
Weston Taylor
