Mackay, Pre-1848, Scotland

I am looking for information regarding James Jack Mackay - born 1848 (possibly Dundee in Scotland) who married Mary Alexander in December 1874 in Penicuik, Midlothian, Scotland. His parents were Peter Mackay (a Master Shoemaker) and Mary Munro. Any information on them would also be useful, if anyone has come across them in their researches.
