Here is what I have found. It is different than what you have. I am trying to verify what I have. I have been looking at Parish records etc. You'll have to let me know if you know of any specific errors.
I have John MacKay's parents being:
Sackville MacKay and Margaret Leslie. They were married Nov 1815 in Dornoch, Sutherland, Scotland. (My mother has found his parents. She will update me soon. I can send this out if your interested).
I have John's siblings being:
Isobell or Isabell MacKay, Born 5 Jan 1816 in Dornoch.
Another female MacKay, Born 22 Sep 1817 in Creich, Sutherland, Scotland
John MacKay, Born 2 Mar 1820 (To be discussed later)
George MacKay, Born 31 Mar 1822
Hugh MacKay, Born 12 Jul 1825 in Dornoch.
Robert MacKay, Born 27 Apr 1827 in Dornoch.
Barbara MacKay, Born 18 Feb 1834 in Creich, Sutherland, Scotland
Anne MacKay, Born 14 Feb 1837 in Creich.
Alexander MacKay, Born 18 Aug 1839 in Creich.
I have John MacKay born 2 Mar 1820 in Dornoch, Sutherland, Scotland. He married a Margaret Jane Clutterbuck in approximately 1843. She was born around 1824 in Abbots-Ripton, Huntingdonshire, England. I have their children being:
John Bryan MacKay, Born 30 Oct 1844 Abbots, Ripton.
Donald MacKay, Born 27 Oct 1847 Abbots Ripton.
William Grant MacKay, Born 8 Mar 1849, Abbots Ripton - Married Sarah Ann Fletcher in 1873.
James MacKay (My ancestor) Born 5 Jan 1851, Abbots Ripton. - Married Alice Rosina Tyers in 1875
Margaret Jane MacKay, Born 4 Mar 1854, Abbots Ripton.
Flora Adelaide MacKay, Born 12 Jan 1856, Abbots Ripton. - Married George Fletcher 5 Aug 1898.
John Hugh MacKay, Born 8 Aug 1857, Abbots Ripton.
Georgina Ellen MacKay, Born 19 Jun 1859, Abbots Ripton.
James MacKay came from England and ended up in the Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio area.
