Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Try www.origins.net, which is the official Scottish Record Office website. You will be able to search on line for births, deaths etc., although you will have to pay a nominal fee. You can also order certificates, etc. Depending on which part of Scotland your ancestors came from, there are also local family history sites available. Good hunting.
