Dear Carolyn:

I don't know if we have a connection but thought it's worth a try. My granpa marr. a MARY MACKAY in Glasgow. She told a reporter (Boston, Mass) about being next in line to a fortune via William Mackay in MD who owned vast property, slaves, etc. She mentions John Mackay, etc. This relates to a will dated 1722. This MARY who was born in Gr. Brit. but resided in Scot. when marr. says her dad, Robert Mackay
(supposedly a DR. but I found no proof) would have been the heir but he was dead, thus Mary hired an atty. to fight her cause. In addition to property in MD, there were extensive holdings in Glasgow. Do you have any knowledge of the above article? I don't know what happened to this marr. because MARY is not my grandmother. Grandpa, a dentist, re-
married.
