My wife's family goes back to Lochalsh (Portachullin actually, but the Parish was Lochalsh), but I haven't traced it quite that far back yet. I have Patrick Mackay who married Kate (Mackay?) and had 5 children - Duncan 1827, Roderick 1830, Ann 1833&35 and Kate 1838.

If you can link the two that would be great. I'll get back to you if I find out more, although it does seem that the area was awash with Mackays at that time!
