John MacKay, 1920 Dornoch Scotland

I'm looking to trace the family tree. My grandfather was born in 1920 around Dornoch Scotland. His birth mother's name was Barbara Watt and he was born Denis
Allan Watt. He was adopted to Jack M(a)cKay (son of William and Annie (nee McKay) and Helen (Cruickshank) daughter of James and Jessie (nee Pyper).

My grandfather was an identical twin. We only found this out after he died two years ago. I believe his twin drowned at an early age.

He didn't know he was adopted until he was 47 years old. It was not until January 17, 1967 that his name and surname change was registered by Moray County
Scotland despite the fact that he moved with his adoptive family to Canada around 1925 or 1930

Can anyone help me with any more info?
