Hi Deborah,
I am actually wondering about your McKays in B.C. My grandfather was James William Mckay born in B.C. His father, and I don't know how many generations back had the same name. I also wonder about the spelling of McKay, whether my McKays were Mackays first. I have always been told that this part of my history was Irish, but am having a very difficult time finding where they came from. I have also been told that my great grandfather's family was from the states, but am having a hard time finding that, too. If you have any input, or even not, just to chat about all this confusion, please reply here, or my email.
