Hello Cheri! Sorry I am so long in replying to your message. GenForum had to straighten out my account and password first. We may have similar ancestors but I am having difficulty locating them also. The farthest back I can go is my gggrandfather Alexander Robert Mackay who married, according to my records, an Ann Mackay ( I have always assumed that they must have been cousins). All I know about him is that he died in 1830 and was a military sergeant. I have been trying to find him in militia records with no success. His son, my ggrandfather, was Alexander (John?) b. 1807, Tongue,Sutherland, d. 1884 Thurso, Caithness. This Alexander was a farmer and stone mason. He married Isabel Murray and they had seven children. Will be pleased to hear further from you. Alexandra Zacharias
