You are way off on the "Real McCoy" saying; an African-American, by the name of McCoy, invented an oiling device used on trains; his device was so successful that "Copy cats" began to appear and the questions, "was it the real McCoy" started. Search the saying on the internet and see what you find!

I was a McCoy, by the way.
