Looking for info on sergent John McKay, born in the parish of Rogart, in Sutherland. He was seventeen on enlistment with the 79th, and then with the 74th he served throughout the Peninsula Campaign. John Married Susan Gilligan at St Paul's Anglican church Halifax 28/9/1826.I have record of three childern, Mary McKay born1827 Halifax AnnMacKay born 1827 Bermuda and John MacKay born 1831 Tulla. John was discarged to pension of one shilling and seven pence a day on the 16/3/1832 in Dublin. The pension records show that on the 1st of april his Pension was transfered to payment in the colonies at Charles Town, Prince Edward Island. Register records record his death 25/4/1853 Notify Administrator about this message?
