I believe Jessie is the daughter of George Mackay of Bighouse and Catherine Mackay, dau. of George Mackay and Elizabeth MacDonald of Arichliney. Both families lived in the Strathhalladale area. Jessie married Andrew Mackay a merchant in Helmsdale. They had at least one child named Isabella who married Alexander Mackay. In 1814 George and Catherine were living in Arichliney at the home of her father who had died. They were evicted from the home through the clearances. There is considerable information on the family in The Book of Mackay written early 1900.
