Mackay Family Genealogy Forum
Sounds as if you've done some fascinating research on your Mackay family. I can appreciate it because I'm in the midst of a major research project myself on one of my Walker ancestors who came out here to Oregon in 1834 and was closely connected with at least seven major figures in Pacific Northwest history. If I ever get the time, it will eventually be a book.
But regretfully, I have to decline the John Mackey picture in favor of someone who is more closely connected. My relationship is through my grandmother's sister Nona McCarley, who married Rev. John Noble McKay c. 1920, so for me the McKays are really a collateral line. What I've learned about my own McKay cousins has been more than interesting, but I don't plan to follow it up more than I have. I can't even begin to do justice to the lines I'm already researching, including the McCarleys.
Many thanks, though, and good luck with your search.
