I have in my possession a large batch of letters to a Marjorie J. MacKay that I would like to return to the family.
These letters are dated between 1962 and 1980 and are bundled by year (from 1962 to, I believe, 1973) with a handful of loose letters dating to 1980. These letters are almost all aerogramme letters (one sheet of thin paper folded to create its own envelope) and are mostly from her mother, Mrs. C. MacKay in Cheshire, England, though there does seem to be a few others from various friends and relatives.
Marjorie MacKay apparently moved to the United States from England in the late 1950s or early 1960s and enjoyed a weekly or bi-weekly correspondence with her Mum back home. These letters are addressed to her at at least two of her Los Angeles apartments.
I have not counted up the letters but I would estimate them to be in the hundreds. The lot of them weighs nearly six pounds! It seems a shame to just discard them after Marjorie had dutifully saved them (I found them in a long-abandoned storage locker in an apartment building where she once lived), so I would be happy to return them to her or someone in her family.
If you are her or a member of her family, please email me. I can mail them to you at my cost for shipping them. If you're in the United States, I am happy to ship them via Media Mail, which is particularly inexpensive.
