while looking for my mackey family backgroung, i read about james mackey-in area of louisian purchase, who built dams, helped settled indian wars, and made maps uaed by lewis and clark expedition--mississippi river to canada. my memory seemed to be that he married isabella long, and they lived in arkansas. my dad also said all mackeys were lost; convinced prob. some deliberate-hide who relatives were and not let any bad events carried into present.
