Mertice Eileen Stratton, 84, of Woodville passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010, surrounded by her family. Born Feb. 2, 1926, daughter of the late Elmer and Alice (Kimball) MacKay. Mertice was married to Roy Stratton of Hopkinton for 65 years. Besides her husband Roy, she is survived by her children and their spouses; Janis and Charles Bunting, Susan and Philip George, grandsons Bryan, Roy Jr. and Lisa, and granddaughter Victoria. She also is survived by her siblings, Charles, Duncan and Preston, and is predeceased three brothers, Elston, Donald, and Wilbur, and four sisters Cora, Ruth, Muriel and Barbara. Visitation hours will be from the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton Wednesday, May 26, 2010, from 9-10:30 a.m. A service will follow in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Full obit @ www.chesmorefuneralhome.com. Relatives and friends are welcome. A private burial will follow after at the Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville. She was much beloved, and will be missed by those whose lives she touched.
