I've been looking for any leads on place of residence or birth of Robert or William McKay (various spellings). Robert was probably with the Reay/Mackay Fencibles and had been erroneously reported as killed in Ireland. The limited amount of information I have on William is a record of his marriage to Caith Morison in Thurso in 1803. She was the daughter of a William Morison (formerly of the Northern Fencibles)and Margaret (variously listed as Agnes)Ross. Allegedly they were cousins. If anyone can hazard a guess as to where attestation information is kept on these units, please drop me a line.
