Hmmm ... I should have said that I have most of the years microfilmed by the LDS from 1808 through 1884.I can't help you with anyone who was born, married or died after 1884.I can tell you right now that the 1885 civil records are missing. The only place you can probably get any of those would be from their proper parish.
I checked the Ellis Island website and found a Jan Chojnicki, who arrived in the US in 1906.He came with his 1/2 brother Antoni Malkowski. They were from Ostrolinka. Are these your relatives?Have you found the ship manifest for your Jan Chojnicki.I know this name is in the Jeleniewo parish.I have seen it in records. What records have you found on your family in the US?
I went to the Family History Center tonight, only to find it was closed.I did not think they would be closed on Halloween. It may be a few weeks now before I can go because I have to work overtime for the next couple of weeks.I will not forget to do this for you.I'll add Jan to my list, and see if I can at least find him for you.
The way the record system works in Poland is like this:All civil records are turned over to the state archives after they are 100 years old, so theoretically everything from 1905 back should be in their files.Anything less than 100 years old should be in the local gmina, the administrative district office for that area.
I got kind of confused with your message. How does the Raszkiewicz people fit into your family?Where Teodor, Anna and Zofia born to Jan Chojnicki, II and Jozefa Rozalia Raszkiewicz?Did all of these people come to the US?
