"Masko" original surname
Posted by: Barbara Collin Date: August 10, 1999 at 08:09:59

Can anyone help determine what the original spelling of "Masko" might have been? Two brothers, Frank and Andrew, arrived at Ellis Island October 12, 1903. When they were processed through, Frank's name was written phonetically as "Masko" and Andrew's as "Masco." The family was from Stropko, in what is now Slovakia. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
