My father always said the name was Macko, never shortened or changed from anything. My grandfather spoke german/english. His name was William M. Macko and he lived in Maspeth, New York. He operated a draw bridge during the great depression. His wife was Sophia Gersh, she spoke polish/english and german. Dad had a brother and a sister. His brother is still living in Maspeth. My Dad also had an uncle named John who lived in the south. I am unsure where. He passed on several years ago. My Dad always said he was cezch, polish and german. I would love to hear from you. We were always the only Macko's in our locol phone book and time to time I remember letters or phone calls from people asking if they were related to us. I'm just getting into this family tree thing. It's fun.
