I don't have a lot of information but I do know that in the Slovak language the letter "c" is pronounced as "ts". My name is "Matsko" but was probably "Macko" at some point. If your relatives came through and pronounced a name such as "Macko" it could very well have turned out as "Masco" or "Masko" or "Matsko".

As another bit of trivia, the word "macko", I am told, means "little bear" or "little cubby bear" in Slovak.

My relatives came over around the same time and settled in Pennsylvania.
