Christina,

How is it you know that your father's
family is from Hungary? I'm asking because
it is a very Slovak name and that area was
part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. Records
in the USA from the first half of this
century will often show someone as being
from Austria or Hungary or even Bohemia if
their hometown ws part of this empire. My
Maco ancestors were definitely from Slovakia
but all of the above locations appear on
various US documents.

One thing that will help you is to search
various spellings of the name. Search
Maczo, Maco, Macko, Matsko as well as the
spelling you're using.
