Many thanks for your reply. The only info that I have is that Mable Closs (born 1889 North Hastings County, Ontario) had a son that she named after the father, George MacMillan born 1915 in Ottawa, Ontario. On the birth certificate it says: 'father not named'.Mable had a good relationship with the mother of the George MacMillan Sr. from family stories. We have also been told that the MacMillan's came from Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia and that George MacMillan Sr. was killed in a mining accident sometime after the birth in 1915.It has led us to believe that the MacMillan's were a mining family. This is speculation but is all that we have to go on.I would be interested in the info that you have on all of the George MacMillan's and maybe somehow I can connect.I have been waiting for the release of the 1911 census (fingers crossed) in hopes that I could find Mable Closs and a MacMillan family nearby.I wouldn't be surprised to find that Mable was in the employ of the MacMillan household. Many of her sisters were listed in the 1901 census as servants so believe that Mable probably followed suit when she was old enough.I really appreciate your help.
