Susannah MacNaughton and Hugh Mccormack/Mccormick

Hi
Does anyone have any information about Susannah MacNaughton, she was born abt 1875 in Ireland (don't know where) She married Hugh Mccormack/Mccormick (born abt 1871) in Ireland. They are my great grandparents.

They lived in Barrow-in-Furness, England and on the 1901 Census it shows them and their children:(which were all born in Barrow-in-Furness)

Margaret Mccormack: born abt.1891, although I think it is more likely 1900

Edward James McCormack: (my grandfather) born 1895
Mary Jane Mccormack :born 1893
Patrick Mccormack :born 1897

There was another son
John F. Mccormack: born in 1911

I don't know if there were anymore children born to Hugh and Susannah.

Patrick and Mary Jane emigrated to the USA in their teens or early twenties, which could have been between 1913 - 1915 not exactly sure. They both worked in a tennis factory when they first arrived and Patrick sent his first tennis racket home to his mum Susannah, he also used to send her American dollars, later on he became a gentlemans valet. I was told that Mary Jane returned to England, married an Irishman and then went back to America and raised a large family.

Margaret, Edward and John stayed in Barrow and married and raised families.
A Later spelling used was Mccormick,
which is what my mum (Edward James's daughter)was brought up with.

All I know about Susannah and Hugh is what my mum remembers about her grandparents which is:
Susannah worked in the fields in Ireland as a girl before she married Hugh.
She and Hugh were very strict Catholics and Hugh used to drive the Bishop of Barrow-in-Furness around and Susannah used to clean for him (I think).

She was a very large woman and later on did not leave the house for over 16 years because of her bad legs. She used to receive Mass at home I believe.

She believed in the Wee folk and spoke with a very strong Irish accent, as did Hugh, although he was a very quiet man.

My mum was told as a little girl that they were some relation to the Irish Tenor John F.McCormack who was born in Athlone, Ireland in 1884 and also to John L Sullivan, who was born in the USA in 1858.I have no idea if this is correct. A lot of Susannah's and also Hugh's relations and ancesters emigrated to the USA, while they came to England.

Hugh and Susannah both died in Barrow-in-Furness, England
Hugh in 1943(age 73) and Susannah in 1946 (age 70).
I have hit a brick wall were these two are concerned and I would love to find out were they came from in Ireland, when they married and when they came to England.
I apologise for such a long message.
If anyone out there can help I would be very grateful
thanks everyone
Maureen
