Hi Mary! How do you know that my Riley is the same as Riley, son of Martin? Do you have any other details?
The Riley that I'm needing more info on was my great grandfather, and he died when my grandfather was just 9 years old. I've had a very hard time finding out anything beyond family stories. Here is what I have:
Eula Dunham b.1872 d. 1949 both in LA m.in 1891 James McPherson b.abt 1870 d. abt 1900. They had 4 children, John Andrew, Theolphus, Minnie Mae, and Ruth Emma.
Eula m.2nd abt 1902 Riley McPherson. They had 4 sons, Elmore, Philmore, Roy Lee, and Jesse Vernon. Riley died in 1913 of an overdose of laudunum. All of the children were told that James and Riley were 1st cousins.
Of the eight children, only John, Minnie, Ruth, Elmore, and Roy lived to adulthood. These five had many descendants, but apparently none of us cousins has any idea who James or Riley's parents were.
Does any of this sound familiar? Is my Riley really related to your Martin and Arthur?
