Pauline MacPherson

Looking for any information about one "Pauline MacPherson" who married Louis Betthel/Bethell around 1895-1900. They moved to Wasco,(near Bakersfield), in Kern County, California where they worked in a vineyard. Pauline and Louis had at least four children - one of which died in 1905(?) as did Pauline. There was a great flu epidemic followed by a fire that demolished most of the city including many churches where marriage, birth, christenings and death records were recorded and kept.
Our story (as we got it from one of their children) is that Louis and Pauline were married somewhere west of the Rockies and moved to California shortly after their marriage.
Since we cannot find any records, we have not been able to find out anything about her or her husband Louis; nor have we been able to find any descendants since Elmer (one of their sons) left home at 13 and never returned or corresponded with his family.
