Judy- I was originally looking for your posting on John Macrae and Isabell Chisholm, when I found the posting on Finlay Macrae. I have been working on my family tree for 6 months trying to find info on the Macrae's who settled in Indian Lands Ontario, as my Grandfather is of this geneaology. His father Peter Alexander Macrae "Black Pete" was born in 1840 to Donald Alexander Macrae and Catherine Munro. I believe Donald to be a brother of Finlay Macrae, born to John Macrae and Isabell Chisholm. Donald Alexander died, and Catherine remarried a man by the name of Fraser. I have uncovered records that show land owned by this clan of Macrae's in Maxville OR "Indian Lands", on the 11th and 19th Concession. Catherine Macrae, Alex Macrae, Farquhar Macrae, John Macrae, Isabella Macrae, an F.Macrae (Finlay?) and Peter Macrae are all indicated to be land owners. My interest, is of course, Peter Alexander Macrae and his wife Elizabeth Macrae (possibly a second cousin).I have been unable to find family for Elizabeth who was born 4/18/1841 and died 12/13/27. She and Peter moved to Saginaw, Mi. where they had two children, Murdock (my grandfather) and Mary Elizabeth. You have considerable information, and I am interested in where you were able to get what you have, perhaps the specifics I am seeking may be available there too.
