MacRaes began arriving in the American colonies during the 1600s. Most, though, went to Northern Ireland, settling principally in County Down, Armagh and Tyrone. Their descendants later came to America. At least, that's what happened with my family, anyway. For more on the history of the Clan MacRae, see the website of the Clan MacRae Society:
