I am looking for 2 Macrae women married to MATHESONS. The first would be Christina Macrae the eldest daughter of Alexander Macrae of Inverinate, chief of the Macraes, and Chamberlain of Kintail, by his first wife Margaret, daughter of Murdoch Mackenzie, second of Redcastle, by his wife, Margaret, daughter of William Rose, eleventh Baron on Kilravock. This makes Christina the sister of Donnchadh Nam Pios, Author of the Fernaig M. S. married to Alexander Matheson who occupied the lands of Achtaytoralan, son of John Matheson around 1650 in Scotland.
Second Farquhar MATHESON married his cousin Mary Macrae, daughter of Christopher Macrae, Ardintoul, granddaughter of Alexander of Inverinate, by his second wife, Mary, daughter of Alexander Mackenzie, fourth of Davochmaluag, by his wife, Margaret, daughter of Hector MUNRO of Fowlis, by Anne, daughter of Hugh, seventh Lord Lovat. He was designated of Fernaig. They had 5 children. He married first a daughter of Evander MURCHIESON of Auchtertyre. Thanks Kathie
