Hi,My Father was John (Christened Jack MacRae) from 24 Lower Bayble,Stornoway. As far as I can remember, there were seven daughters and seven sons in the family,Can't remember all of the names, but, here goes John (my dad),Norman, Kenneth, Callum,Iain. Christine,Sandra(maybe Alexandra) - That's about it.The family were crofters, but when war came all seven sons were in uniform (said to be the proudest day in my grandmother's life) My father left the Island to go to sea at 14 (can you believe) and never returned till he was 70 and took up crofting again. I believe we still have many relations on the Island as my Son went up there a couple of years ago and was immediately recognised. Hope this information is of some use, Irene.
