In 1845 my g.g.grandfather Farquhar Mcrae(son of John Mcrae and Catherine mcrae) was a shepherd at Achnagart. He was age 40, with wife Isabella ( maiden surname Matheson, born Lochalsh), Alex b 1837, Jannet b.1840, John b. 1842. They moved and by 1851 were at Larachmore, Kilmallie, and had other children isabella b. 1844, Isabella b.1847 and Margaret b.1849. Do they have any connection with your ancestors? The Achnagart farm was rented to the Linton family, who had moved from the south of Scotland. Farquhar mcrae died age about 80 in 1882 near Fort William, Invernesshire.
Hope the may be some connection somewhere!
