In Reply to: Macrander-Holland, familyweapon by Macrander, Frank of 37

Frank; Our cousin Max S. Macrander of Chicago, Illinois USA, now deceased, told me that an Armorial Weapon illustration was provided to another person, Stephen Macrander in Holland several years ago by a genealogist paid to research the family. It was not authenticated at that time. It included the picture of the Morgenstern or Mace fighting weapon on the shield. The earliest person to use the name MACRANDER was Arnoldt LANGEMANN b.1567 at the village of Helsen, kriese Twiste, Countship von Waldeck. This place is now part of the larger town of Bad Arolsen, kriese Waldeck, Hessen, Deutschland. Arnoldt LANGEMANN translated his name in Greek to MACRANDER (Lange = Macro plus Mann = Anther). His first name, Arnoldt, was changed to the Latin form, Arnoldus. The father of Arnoldus MACRANDER was Gerick LANGEMANN of Helsen. Occupation: vollspaenner. Arnoludus MACRANDER probably had no weapon awarded to him. He was Secretary to Bishop of Osnabrueck, Count Bernhard von Waldeck-Eisenberg (1587 to 1589). A. Macrander was next the School rector at Mengeringhausen, and court advisor at Waldeck-Eisenberg. He married 1st, sister of Pfarrer Phillip Nicolai, Pastor and hymnal writer at Hamburg, Kathrinekirch. A. Macrander married 2nd, Regina (?Schneekampf); they resided in Alte Wildungen, Waldeck. He was an attorney and advisor to Counts von Waldeck-Wildungen. His second son Johannes Macrander is head of our ancestral lineage from Arnoldus Macrander. He lived in Wetzlar am Lahn, Hessen. Macrander and Marcrander people today from Wetzlar, Marburg, Frankfor am Main are located in Otterendorf am Elbe, Deutschland, The Netherlands, Canada, USA, and Sao Paulo, Brazil, SA.
