Johnny Madden

I am searching for family information on John "Johnny" Madden who was born in Mount Carmel, PA sometime in the early 1920's

He was the illegitimate son of my grandmother Mary Malick (nee Tomaschewski)and John Madden Senior.

Mary's parents (Constantine and Antonina Tomaschewski) raised Johnny as their own son. My mother and her sisters always thought he was a cousin and never found out that he was their brother until many years later--after he had left Mount Carmel, PA.

It is my understanding that he made several attempts to remain in touch with Mary; however, she did not reciprocate - hence, I have little information about him.

According to what my mother and aunts have told me, Johnny was in the army (WWII), then moved to Ohio, married and had a family. I know there was at least one son--I have a picture of him - the inscription reads: "Jake's son" - apparently the picture was sent to my grandmother presumably by Johnny.

The story goes that Johnny died sometime in the 1960's from eating a poison mushroom

If anyone has any information regarding John Madden, I would love to know more about my great-uncle.

Thank you!
