Have been able to put together more family data on James Madden and his family. James Madden married Mary Hackett. Here are the names of some of their children: Johanna born 1854; Mary Agnes ca 1840; Margarett 1843; and Anne Madden 1840s. Anne married John Fagen;Johanna married Charles McManus;Margarett married Patrick Nilan; and Mary Agnes married Michael Tracey. James Madden and Mary Hackett born about 1810 in Ireland. There was a son - James Madden who served in the Civil War. Family oral history spoke of his being a drummer boy killed in the war. Research showed a James H Madden, born about 1840 was a bugler for 5th NY Cavalry Regiment. This data about the James H Madden may not be connected. Anyone having knowledge of this Madden family, please let me know. They were New York City based with parts of family moving to Yonkers and Brooklyn, NY
