Melissa, it all sounds very interesting but I don't believe it is my direct family line and I know nothing about Nicholas Madeira. My family mostly came from Switzerland and
settled in the Bedford County, area of PA. Sorry! I can't even remember why I was looking for Nicholas a year ago. Have you been in touch with Larry Madara, Phila. PA? He is the guru of the Madara family and has over 100,000 Madara's in his file. Believe he has a Web Site and is going to write a book on the Madaras (which includes all the other spellings).
