The MADEIRA family of Chillicothe are descendants of Daniel MADEIRA (c.1768-aft.1819), who came to Ohio from Baltimore MD. He was the son of Jacob and Catherine (Bauer) MADEIRA. Elizabeth, who would have been b. abt. 1793, is probably the dau. of Daniel. You will find that Jay Wondolowski <woolcroft@kaltelnet.net> and others have posted a great deal of information about this family in the Ancestry World Tree at Ancestry.com.

James CROCKWELL, who would have been b. abt. 1788, is probably the brother of Elizabeth CROCKWELL b. 1780 who m. John HUTT (1763-1833). Their dau. Mary Constance HUTT b. 15 Sep 1805 in Chillicothe m. 27 Dec 1835 to Charles MADEIRA (c.1795-bef.1850), eldest son of Daniel MADEIRA.

John HUTT is known to have come to Ohio from Westmoreland Co. VA; it is possible that the CROCKWELL family is also from the Northern Neck, but I have no further information on that account. Happy hunting.
