Hi Brent, I'll give you what I have on them, and hopefully you will be able to continue you on from there.
1850 Prairie Township, Boone County, Indiana census
In the 7th District, Boone County, IN, Washington Madison is age 33, born in NC, can not read or write. His wife is Sally (nickname for Marcelia?), age 25, which is the right age since she was born in 1825, and it says Ohio for her birth. They have a one yr old named Mary born in Indiana.

1860 Center Township, Madison County, Iowa, image 30 of 190, Household # 212/212
Madison, Washington, age 43, male, farmer, 1200 acres, Valued at $60, born in NC
, Missella, age 35, female, born in Ohio
, Wm. R., age 8, male, born in Indiana
, Enlatty, age 5, female, born in Iowa
, Stephen, age 3, male, born in Indiana
, Martha A., age 4/12 months, female, born in Iowa

(Family moved from Indiana bet. 1850-1852 to Iowa, had a dau. in 1855 in Iowa, back to Indiana by 1857, and back to Iowa by 1860.)

This has all of the right children with the right ages and birth locations, plus 2 more, John and Sarah. Sarah, new name for the Mom, is still the right age and from the right birth state. William, new name for him, is a little older but still from NC. I have wondered if Marcelia remarried one of Washington's brothers or cousins, but William is not one of his brothers. I have not looked for a marriage license in this time frame to see if Marcelia remarried.
1870, Kirklin, Clinton County, Indiana census, page 19 of 33, household # 156/160
Madison, William, age 59 W, M, farmer, 500 acres, North Carolina, cannot read or write
, Sarah, age 45, F, W, keeping house, Ohio, cannot write
, William, age 18, W, M, Indiana, attended school within the year
, John W., age 18, W, M, Indiana, attended school within the year
, Emly E., age 15, W, F, Iowa, attended school within the year
, Stephen, age 13, W, M, Indiana, attended school within the year
, Martha, age 10, W, F, Iowa, attended school within the year
, Sarah J., age 6, Indiana

His half-brother Charles is on the preceeding page of the 1870.

I've found that Madison descendants believe that Washington died in Iowa after the 1860 census, though the above census may prove the date wrong, but not necessarily the state since he moved back and forth between the two states. Their son William is listed in ancestry with children for anyone who may want to pursue this line further.

FACT: Seth and Mary CHILDERS Walker did have 2 girls in the 1830 and 1840 census that no one has ever listed or pursued that we know of. These 2 girls are mentioned in Eunice WALKER Foote's information as having been related to Seth somehow since they are buried in his family plot. She thought they might have been cousins. Julia died shortly after marriage, and Marcelia, we're still not sure if that's her in the 1870. If it is, then we have another name to look for her by in the 1880. No other known family is found living near Seth other than his own descendants in OH or in IN. We have not found any Childer's descendants who know of these 2 girls and who they may have belonged to.

In "THE WALKER's 1800-1968" history, by Eunice Marie WALKER Foot, she writes about who is buried in the Hays Cemetery - "Also included in the family were two girls. It is thought they were nieces of Seth or Polly. Julia Ann Walker, b. March 6, 1823, d. Sept 8, 1844 in the Hays graveyard...Marcelia Walker, b. Dec. 8, 1825. Married 1841 to Washington Madison in Hancock County, IN. Death unknown.

Fact: Mercilia Walker (or Percilva) b. Dec 8, 1825 d. ---- m. Feb 1841 to Washington Madison in Hancock Co, Ind.

After 3 yrs of searching for both girls parents, we are going to list them on the Walker website as daughter's of Seth and Mary. Marcelia certainly could be their daughter because her birth came 11 months after their marriage, but none of Seth's descendants have ever added Marcelia in as a daughter. He even left a will and she was not named, though she could have died before 1874. We hope that by putting their names out on the net, with the link to their husband's, that someone will notice and come forward with "the rest of the story". Below is one Madison researcher that I have written to. Her info seems pretty complete and has Washington's father and siblings. If you find more, I hope you will remember me and share.
