Hi Brent, It all depends upon who Marcelia's parents are. If she really is a Walker like she was named, then yes, I am. Seth Walker was brother to my Solon Walker from whom I am descended. We did DNA testing and now we know 200 yrs back further than we knew on the Walker's, so now there's just the little mysteries that keep calling me back to find answers for, like who were Marcelia's and Julia Ann's parents. Julia Ann died young, prob. in childbirth and there are no descendants for her. Marcelia's descendants scattered and there doesn't seem to be many looking for Washington and Marcelia.
I really don't think that Seth and Mary CHILDERS Walker were her parents, and I haven't found any relatives of either of them who died young and left children, so it would seem like maybe it was neighbors of Seth & Mary's, and they raised the girls like their own. I have a strong opinion about putting incorrect info on the net, but to give them exposure, we are listing them on the Walker website as children of Seth and Mary. If there's anyone out there who knows more about them, they should write to complain that we have it wrong. At least that's what I'm hoping.
I would like to find Marcelia's death location and try for death records for her to see if parents are listed. Have you ever tried to find a birth certificate for Emily Etta? (Yes, they are all the same person...the enumerator had a hard time with her name.) I'd like to check birth records on all the children of this family someday, along with the death records of all the kids.
Thanks for any direction you can send me in.
