There is proof that John Maddison, Sr., was married to Mary __?__ in 1659. Look at this message.

I think it is fair to presume that she was the mother of his children, but this is not proven. There is no proven support that Mary's last name was Ambrose. I think this is somebody assumption because a grandson was named Ambrose Madison.
