You need to state places where your great grandfather lived. Check the census records. You have started on a fun hobby!!! Write down your name, dates of birth and places.
Your marriage and children. Then take a sheet of paper and do the same for your parents and siblings. Walk it back.
This helps you to recognize names when you see them in the census records. Good luck.
