Barbara,
My association with Pres. James Madison, Jr. is through his wife Dolly/Dolley Payne (her second marriage was to Pres. Madison). Dolly was of the Dr. John Woodson, M.D.(m. Sarah Winston) line.
The information I have about Madison is not extensive. What I have is that he is descended from John Lee and Jane Hancock. Their son Richard "The Immigrant" Lee and wife Ann Constable, their daughter Unknown Lee and husband Thomas Walker. Their daughter Frances Walker married Col. James Taylor, I. Their son Col. James Taylor, II, married Martha Thompson. Their daughter Frances Taylor married Ambrose Madison. Their son James Madison, Sr., married Eleanor Rose "Nelly" Conway. Their son was President James Madison, Jr. who married widow Dolly/Dolley Payne.
The only siblings I have for Pres. Madison are William Taylor Madison who married Frances Throckmorton and Francis Madison who married Susannah Bell.
President Madison's paternal grandmother, Frances Taylor, had siblings George Taylor, and Zachary Taylor. Zachary married Elizabeth Lee. Their son Lt. Col. Richard Taylor married Sarah Panhill Dabney Strother(s). Their son was Pres. Zachary Taylor. His wife was Margaret Mackall "Peggy" Smith, and their daughter Sarah Knox "Knoxie" Taylor was the first wife of Jefferson Davis, later president of the Confederate States of America. It appears that this same Taylor family has as a descendant Gen. George S. Patton, Jr. (descended from Pres. Taylor's father and his second wife Esther(?) Jones Blackburn)
The above Richard "The Immigrant" Lee had a brother or nephew Richard "The Scholar" Lee who married Laetitia Corbin. Their great-grandson was Henry "Light Horse Harry" Lee, III, who married Ann Carter Hill. Their son was General Robert Edward Lee, who married Mary Anna Randolf Custis. She was the great-granddaughter of Martha Dandridge Custis. Martha's second husband was President George Washington.
Perhaps that will point you in a direction that will be helpful. None of this material was my original research. I have relied on the various postings and not verified each, since I was merely interested in the historical connections and I am not a direct descendant of any of these families, with the exception of the Woodson family where I have three Woodsons as "direct" ancestors.
If you find that any of the above is incorrect please let me know.
