I am Barry John Madsen's sister. We are both looking at details of the Madsen family. Our great grandfather was born in Denmark and emigrated to NZ, possibly via Australia, in the late 1800s. He owned and worked a farm on Mt Pirongia. He was married to Caroline Coleman and had approximately 8 children who all eventually settled in Auckland. The farm was passed on to his son Julius. As yet I have not requested birth certificates etc. A second cousin who recently died had apparently traced family in Denmark, visiting them on 2 occassions. I have been unable to get any information from his research, so must start again!

Any info or possible connections would be gratefully received.
