"CARL MADSEN returned home last Friday from his trip to DENMARK. He reports the return trip as not having been very pleasant, as the seas were very rough and he was 20 days on the water. He started to return to the UNITED STATES in the same boat on which he made the trip over there, but when about 200 miles out of GLASGOW,SCOTLAND some accident happened to one of the engines and they were obliged to return to that city, which took 3 days. The passengers were than transferred to another boat, the CAMERONIA,which arrived in NEW YORK on Tuesday ,February 10,1914." Source--"The Tomah Journal" dated February 20, 1914. Tomah is in Monroe County,Wisconsin. And possibly Carl lived in Shennington where a quite a few of Danish descent had settled. (Not related hope this will help a Madsen Family Researcher) ann
