The 1870 census lists Catherine and Robert as married for 14 years. Robert immigrated in 1885 and Catherine and Niels much sooner. It is certain that Martha and Laura were Robert's children. Sena was born in Dec of 1886 so her father is questionable unless a descendant answers who knows for sure. I found a birth record for a girl born Dec 11, 1885 listing Niels and Catherine as parents. That must have been Olivia as I had no birthday for her. Niels must have died sometime in 1885 and Robert adopted his children and raised them. Robert is my gg-uncle but it was my understanding that Niels was somehow related.
