Hello,
I am very keen to trace the relatives of Carlos Maestas who died in a World War Two Liberator plane crash in Ballyshannon, Donegal, Ireland on 19th June 1944.
Our local history group Historic Ballyshannon are commemorating the crash of the B24 Liberator in June 1944 in Ballyshannon.
Two of a crew of 10 died , Cpl. Riley Cannon and Sgt. Carlos Maestas. Four of the rest of the crew were injured and four were unharmed.
The pilot was Arthur Ditmarr and he survived and wrote a detailed account of the crash.
We would love to contact any relatives.
Billy Finn, Tonragee, Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal.
