Paula, I just came across your posting of 4/8/2004 and saw so many similarities in names but seems all different times/places. My great grandparents names are Teodoro Valdez and Teodora Mestas/Maestas. Their fist son is my grandfather, Martin Valdez and my gradmaother is Josefa Gurule; her parents: Juan Francisco Gurule and Maria Socorro Trujillo. Martin & Josefa are my father's parents; Juan Franciso Valdez & my father's sister, Maria Socorro Valdez.
Martin's siblings are Maria Delfina, b.3/30/1877, Fidel, b. 4/21/1880, Maria Estafana, b.8/24/1872, All in Tierra Amarilla, NM.
But could not find any info on two other of his sisters: Vicenta widow of Frank Lovato/Lobato. I met her when I was a teen, in the early 1960s; she lived in Dolores, Co. I don't remember when she died. Probably mid-late 60s. She had a son, Juan Lovato/Lobato & a daughter Mary/Maria Ignacia -lives/lived in Utah--and I don't remember who the others were.
The other sister Tiofila?-or-Epimenia??? (I think). She was Maestas by marriage, don't know of her husband, but I think her son was Abe (Lolo) Maestas. I don't know who was who but I remember names such as Cecilia, OFelia/Ophelia, Adelida and there was Molly, I think her husband was Harold West. Not very sure. I don't know if they were all in Dolores or some in Mancos. Lolo's bro. Fred Maestas & his wife, Fern & family lives/lived in Cortez, Co.
We could have a connection here, after all Dolores and Mancos were not all that big and it seemed that everyone pretty much knew everyone or was somehow related. So if you think this might have any merit in your seach...or mine, please do get in touch. Post or e-mail. Thanks.
